Tim Storrier was born in Sydney in 1949. One of Australia’s most celebrated and distinctive painters, he has spent five decades developing a visual world entirely his own — spare, poetic, and suffused with the particular quality of light and silence that characterises the Australian interior. A member of the legendary outback journeys undertaken with Fred Genis, John Olsen, and Theo Kuijpers, Storrier’s relationship with the Australian landscape is not that of an observer but of someone who has lived within it, slept under its skies, and carried its images back to the studio with the intimacy of personal experience.
